In this setup, strings and a water bottle are used to demonstrate the principles of tension and torque.

A wooden board rests on a central triangular support underneath. Two strings hang symmetrically from above, holding a water bottle that acts as the weight. The strings pass over the triangular support and suspend the bottle below.

This simple experiment illustrates force equilibrium and torque. The bottle’s weight, W = m × g, exerts a downward force, while the strings provide upward tension to balance it. Because the strings are positioned symmetrically, the weight of the bottle is evenly distributed between them.
