A molecular motor is a microscopic protein inside living cells that converts chemical energy into mechanical movement. These tiny “machines” transport cargo, help cells divide, and even enable muscles to contract. Proteins such as Kinesin and Dynein literally “walk” along cellular tracks called microtubules, taking hundreds of tiny steps while carrying essential materials across the cell, much like a delivery truck traveling on a highway.
