Be gentle with the person you used to be. 🤍 You made decisions with the understanding you had at the time. You trusted people before you knew better. You stayed in situations you eventually outgrew. You made mistakes while trying to figure out who you were and what you truly needed. And maybe there are moments you wish you could go back and change. Words you wish you hadn’t said, chances you wish you’d taken, or people you wish you’d walked away from sooner. But you cannot expect your past self to have the wisdom you only gained by living through those experiences. You were learning lessons that hindsight now makes obvious. So stop punishing yourself for not knowing what life hadn’t taught you yet. Forgive yourself for the mistakes, the delays, the wrong turns, and the versions of you that were simply trying to survive. You cannot rewrite yesterday, but you can carry its lessons into tomorrow. Growth isn’t about regretting who you were. It’s about understanding that person with compassion and becoming someone wiser because of what you’ve lived through.
